3D Scanning is an optical data acquisition technique which can scan any type of component, irrespective of type of material of construction, geometry or size. RASCO has the ability to scan components from 15mm in size to 2500mm quickly in high resolution and high accuracy.

At RASCO we use the latest FARO Design ScanArm with LLP (High Definition LLP (Laser Line Probe) with colour. We can scan without the need to spray the component with any white powder, enabling in non-destructive scanning technique. We achieve very high resolution scans in high accuracy (up to +/-0.010mm).


One of the major use of 3D Scanning is for reverse engineering, i.e. creating digital CAD models for:

- Prototyping

- Design Analysis, Changes and Design Study

- Competitor Benchmarking

We use Geomagic Design-X software for parametric model creation, enabling the client to have history based CAD models for their products with the ability to deliver them in Siemens NX and Dassault SolidWorks format.
